About the Study

Assal Habibi, PhD., a Professor of Psychology at the University of Southern California, and Sarah Hennessy, PhD, a scientist at the University of Southern California are conducting a research study on music, memory, and the brain. We're interested in learning how older adults aged 60+ with mild cognitive impairment process music-evoked memories and emotions across the lifespan. Individuals who participate in this study will visit the USC Brain and Creativity Institute for a one-time visit, where they will complete an fMRI scan and listen to pieces of music. Participants will also complete a survey about musical preferences, their personality, and their personal memories. Participants will be given $20 per hour for their participation. Transportation and/or parking is provided. Participation is voluntary.
